If you have a karaoke machine at home, it probably came with a microphone. Many of these karaoke machines are capable of recording a person singing along the music as well as playing your favorite songs through it. This is done by recording directly from the “Line In” jack on the back of the machine to either an analog cassette tape recorder or computer. If you don’t own one of those older devices, then I’m afraid that your only option would be to record from your TV/Speakers onto another device such as a Video Cassette Recorder or even another Audio Cassette Recorder if you want to save money in future purchases.
How can I record my karaoke singing?
Most karaoke machines only have a “Line In” jack on the back. Plug your microphone into that and then plug a cassette recorder or computer with an audio recording program into the microphone. If you don’t have a cassette recorder, you can do this digitally by using a video cassette recorder as well as an audio cassette recorder to record from your TV/Speakers onto either an analog or digital medium.
If I was going to buy another one now, what would be best?
A Video Cassette Recorder with built in A/V inputs and outputs would be best for singing at home with friends. A digital converter box would save money if you have an Analog TV already and there is no need to record it. The analog signal can be streamed to your computer and recorded in real time. A Video Cassette Recorder is easily the best option for recording karaoke at home, but a Digital converter box may save you money if you already have an Analog TV and don’t mind waiting for everything to be converted into digital or your budget does not allow you to afford a new Television set AND Video Cassette recorder/Digital Converter box combo.
I’m afraid that with all of these options, there isn’t really any way to do it without spending extra cash on either an old Audio cassette recorder or Video cassette recorder at least. They are both significantly cheaper than buying a Karaoke machine that incorporates the ability to record directly from the unit itself.
Is there a karaoke app that records?
The only way to record yourself singing karaoke with an app is if the app has a built in microphone and ability to play your favorite music. Some apps do have these features, but you’re going to be spending a lot of time recording and re-recording the track until it’s just right. There isn’t any way around this if you don’t want to purchase another device such as a Video Cassette Recorder or Digital Converter box combo so that you can record directly from your TV/Speakers.
What can you do with a karaoke machine?
Karaoke machines are meant for playing your favorite songs, recording yourself singing along with the music, and showing off to your friends. You can also record these tracks onto an external device such as a Video Cassette Recorder or Digital Converter box combo so that you can enjoy them later. This is done by connecting either
1) an Audio cassette recorder to the karaoke machine’s “Line In” jack(by playing music through it)
2) a video cassette recorder directly into the TV/Speakers of the unit(by viewing a prerecorded track on its screen), 3) a Video Cassette Recorder with A/V inputs and outputs wired straight from the unit itself(the most expensive option).
Is a karaoke machine worth it?
Karaoke machines are incredibly fun to play around with at home, but having to purchase external devices for recording your tracks is inconvenient. Before purchasing one of these devices, I suggest that you think it over carefully and consider whether or not you will use the recording ability enough to make it worth losing the ability to play music directly from its speakers. Karaoke is very enjoyable as a spectator sport, but I’m afraid that most people who want their own machine for this purpose would be better off investing in a Video Cassette Recorder or Digital Converter box combo instead.
